Brief history
African Centre for Theological Studies (ACTS) is a redeveloped institution of what was once kwon as Ghana College of Bible, established in 1970. It is located off Dansoman Road (popularly called Asoredanho near Hansonic Hotel) Accra, Ghana
The school had a dormitory that could house sixteen and classes were conducted in the campus Local Assembly known as Bethel Temple. A library was attached to the General Office of the National Headquarters of the Church. This situation continue until the school was temporarily closed in 1988.
In 1995, Rev. James Poitras and his family arrived in Ghana to assume office as the Superintendent of the Church and six months later re-opened the school and renovated the dormitories to accommodate more students.
In 1996, a storied structure was built with administrative offices and classrooms. Further renovations were made in 2006 to accommodate more students and extension schools were added to the training program. It is our goal to have at least one extension school in each region for the purpose of training ministers of the gospel.
